Since my last writing, my only surviving sister has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. She hadn’t been well for some time and noticed lately that she couldn’t get her breath. Lung x-rays showed a large tumor on her right lung - she was admitted to hospital in March and went daily x 5 to a hospital in another city for radiation. After the first treatment, she has not used oxygen so the radiation obviously worked in a positive way for the time being.

She has also started chemo and has had 6 treatments thus far. She has treatments 7, 8, and 9 this coming Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. She had a recent CT Scan and sees one of her cancer doctors next week - we are hoping she gets a good report. She may also have more radiation after her chemo treatments finish.

She will turn 68 in June - the same age that my oldest sister was when she died. I am beginning to think I don’t like the number 68. If I make it to 66 - I think I will fast forward to 69 or 70! It is interesting - both of our parents were in their 80’s when they passed away. You never know in this life what is just around the corner.

Dot is coping quite well - likely better than I would cope. She has a positive attitude which helps greatly in the fight against cancer. We chat frequently on the telephone for lengthy periods - we chat about the days gone by and share a few laughs. What is the old saying - “Laughter is the best medicine.”  I hope to visit her again this weekend .

My neighbour woes continue - I waited until Christmas and New Years passed before I took photos of the restoration process and copies of bills to my lawyer. The lawyer has since sent a letter to my neighbours with copies of the bills for the survey and the restoration. He has requested a cheque or bank draft from the neighbours to cover my costs (just under $1200.00). As has been the case with the last 3 letters - these people have chosen to ignore any correspondence from my lawyer. I guess they think they are above the law and can bloody well do as they please. I don’t need this crap on top of everything else going on in my life.

On a positive note - I finally finished settling my oldest sister’s Estate about a week after the 2 year anniversary of her death.

I haven’t done any more playing with CMS - I have too much on my mind at present. I do need to upgrade my version of WordPress again.

Till next time,

Gail and Angel
