Hi Gail!

Glad to hear you are making the effort to exercise. Don't give up!! My friend has a treadmill and she started using it faithfully every day, sometimes twice a day and she dropped tons of weight. She also cut out "white" food i.e., rice, sugar, pasta etc. She also cut back on the wine drinking and fat intake. Wow! She says she doesn't even mind the change in diet now. She sure looks good. Made a difference to her sugar levels and blood pressure too. I love stories like that. So motivating. It's just taking that first step that is soooo hard!

I actually love the RoboForm software myself. I use it all of the time and it takes all of the menial everyday tasks that I have to perform on my computer daily and shortens them extremely! What once took me fifteen minutes to complete now takes me only one second because RoboForm does the same task with just one click. In fact I saw a Report about a lot of RoboForm’s capabilities for use that aren’t even touched on in the User’s Manual for RoboForm. You can get that Report here:

http://www.theroboformreport.com/indexb.html

There is also a FREE version of RoboForm that you can download on this web page, just to test the RoboForm software out for yourself! I highly recommend it!

I love the top of this webpage Gail! How adorable is that?

Have you considered putting adsense on this website? Hmm? I guess that's only available to Google. I just changed to the new Google Blog. No problem. I'm going to fiddle around with various templates. I still don't have the whole archive thing figured out. I've made a mess of them when I've changed the dates to force position of the stories. I may try the adsense thing just for fun. I wonder what products would find their way onto my stories. Dog food? Bird food? Chocolate?

All the best to you in 2007. We've bought a new place. Wont be built for a year. I'll send you the website later.

My husband and I sacrificed over the past 10 years to help our son get into med school. From the time he was 10 years old, he wanted to be a doctor. He is now a resident and is over $250,000.00 in debt. He wants to be a family doctor and will make about $80-90,000 per year. My sister's husband is a nurse and makes more than that. My son will be responsible for people's lives and will probably be sued before he gets out of residency. Here in the US, kids are not even thinking of becoming doctors because of the above. Yes, he will end up making more than most people, but he has had to go to school for 20 years and will be a resident for another 4. He plans to open a free clinic in one of the most dangerous cities in the US. So, yes, let's celebrate doctor's day for those who are truly called to this profession.

Hi MM,Thanks for your comments. I think when things settle down, I am going to write a letter to the hospital CEO and pass on a few of my thoughts on the 'hospitalist' idea. It does not work as intended and even some of the nurses have said this. I can understand now why the nursing staff often didn't know who my sister's doctor was. If the doctor who is coming to the end of a particular rotation doesn't know who is following him/her - how can one expect the other staff to know? It must be very frustrating to work under such a system. I thought doctors were supposed to be there for the patients, not for themselves. I must say the nursing staff were excellent the past 2 weeks when my sister was critically ill. They displayed a very caring attitude when dealing with my sister and also when dealing with her family.Gail

Dear Gail,I am so very sorry to hear that your sister has passed away.I just updated myself on your recent blog entries ... and discovered that daily life has been very challenging for you lately. I was suitably horrified at your description of the care your sister was/was not receiving. You must have been frantic. I know I would have been. How could you feel anything but helpless and let down by "the system." I totally agree with your comments.I hope you are feeling better since your own surgery.Again, my condolences.MM
